Weekend Listening 2/28/25

I want to write about New Music Fridays on, well, Fridays, but having a day job gets in the way, and sometimes I don’t get to all new music until Saturday or Sunday, so I’m thinking maybe I’ll start posting one of these every Monday as a recap to the weekend, whether it was new or old music I was listening to, as well as maybe any thoughts or news I might want to shout out. I'll try to keep it short but we'll see what I actually stick to. Here is my recap for the weekend of 2/28/25: Architects – The Sky, The Earth & All Between
This is the release I was most looking forward to and the boys delivered even more than I could have imagined. I wrote up my thoughts that turned out to be more of a mini-review that I’ll put in a separate post but I loved the record and I’m excited for the band to still be evolving 11 albums into their career where a lot of bands start to plateau.   Lucy Rose – Pale Blue Eyes
Not sure when this was made, could have been a b-side to her 2024 album This Ain’t The Way You Go Out, regardless it’s another great jazzy track, maybe my favorite one yet from her.   Deadlands, The Pretty Wild – Kundalini
Apparently I missed this release on Feb 7th but I have listened to Deadlands before so it landed on my radar this week and it’s a really fun, heavy metalcore track. I've never heard of The Pretty Wild so I will be checking them out after this as well.   Lisa – Alter Ego
I’ve only recently dabbled in k-pop but I confess I’ve never heard Blackpink despite maybe being the biggest name, at least to Americans. I had heard some of the singles from Lisa and really liked “Rockstar” and “New Woman” and I like Doja, and I thought this was some fun pop.
